Matt Sorum

Matt Sorum is an American drummer and songwriter, best known for his work in the rock genre. Born on November 19, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, Sorum gained prominence as the drummer for the iconic rock band Guns N' Roses, contributing to their critically acclaimed albums "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II" in 1991. His powerful drumming style and dynamic performances helped shape the band's sound during the height of their popularity. Before joining Guns N' Roses, Sorum was a member of the hard rock band The Cult, where he played on the album "Sonic Temple" (1989). He later joined Velvet Revolver, a supergroup formed with former members of Guns N' Roses, which released the Grammy Award-winning album "Contraband" in 2004.
